We used to offer complete, manageable, easy to use, and low maintenance custom solutions that empower organizations to grow and be competitive. We also provided guidance on how to work smarter so your could focus on what really matters.
Oscar Rodriguez, Founding President, has been building information systems for 22 years. His work is not limited to business administration. Our President currently works on software architecture and development, databases, systems integration, and our online presence. Worked on public and private sectors with many technologies and consulting firms, both as client and consultant. Has been a speaker of topics like object-oriented analysis and design, object-oriented programming, business modeling, development tools, programming best practices, and new technologies. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) since 2001. First and only one in Puerto Rico certified by Scrum Alliance in all three Scrum roles (ScrumMaster, Product Owner, and Developer).
But why the name Matrixoft? Before the birth of the company, our President was a team leader and software architect for a consulting firm. He was working on a big project that required a lot of attention to design of classes, web services, databases, and graphical user interfaces. All these UML and ER diagrams covered his cubicle walls. While looking at diagrams, he coded on a laptop with color coded words and black background. One night the client walked by, saw all of this, and told him that it looked like he was working on The Matrix, referring to the movie by Larry and Andy Wachowski. So Matrix or Oscar Matrix became sort of a nickname. Years after leaving the company, that client gave our President his first contract and the company was born.
Dictionary.com defines Matrix like this: “something that constitutes the place or point from which something else originates, takes form, or develops: The Greco-Roman world was the matrix for Western civilization”. So combine Matrix (origin) with software and you get to our name, soul and passion... where software originates and comes to life.
